How to start your own business?

An 8-step canvas proposed by FNE

Your business will depend first on you, then on the activity, and finally on the environment. Follow this canvas to validate each dimension.

1
Step 1: What do I want to do?

Define your idea in detail: type of activity, products/services, location and target market.

2
Step 2: Am I capable of doing it?

Does this activity require special skills? If yes, do you have them? If not, train before starting.

3
Step 3: What is my market?

Who are your customers? Who are your competitors? What prices do they charge? What will your revenue be?

4
Step 4: What does my project need?

List the equipment, facilities, startup funds and permits required.

5
Step 5: What do I have and what do I need?

Inventory your available resources, then list what is missing.

6
Step 6: Where to find what I don't have?

Search for financing, partners or associates. Always plan to contribute your own funds.

7
Step 7: Will this activity be profitable?

Analyze expenses, estimate revenues. Does the profit cover your needs? If yes, continue!

8
Step 8: How to start my activity?

Do exactly what you planned. If major unforeseen events arise, seek new resources before starting.

In all cases, carry out or commission a complete feasibility study of your project before starting. FNE advisors can support you throughout this process.
